In Loving Memory

Debra Tan Jolley

Debbie Jolley was born to James Everett Jolley and Marjorie Rose Peone on October 21, 1962.  She passed gently, surrounded by loving family members September 12, 2024 in Colville, WA.

In 1980, at the age of17, Debbie married 19 year old Mark Hoffman.  She graduated high school at the top of her class in the following year.  The welcomed two children.  The couple later divorced after 26 years.  During her years as a new mother, she was also blessed with many nephews and nieces – each forming their very own special bond with her.  Staying with Aunt Debbie and Uncle Mark felt like a second home.  They were always dearly cherished and welcomed with open arms.

Through education and constant hard work Debbie developed an entrepreneur's heart.  Soon, she was able to purchase "Isaac's Frozen Yogurt Shop."  She loved her customers and serving fantastic frozen treats and fresh sandwiches.  Some years later, Debbie enrolled in the Glen Dow Academy of Hair Design, graduating in 2007.  Versed in all branches of cosmetology, she opened her own salon, The Mane Frame, and made people feel and look beautiful inside and out as was her passion.

Art and the love of beautiful things gave way to her creativity.  Debbie was a crafter, an artist, a beautician, a singer and a dancer.  She loved writing, working out and being a mother.  She and her sisters were the best of friends and were bonded by the strength of an unconditional and unwavering love.  Debbie marveled at her brother's strength and love.  She felt protected in their charismatic presence.  Laughter would fill the room following their stories and good-natured jests.  She will be remembered by her nephews and nieces as a second loving and kind mother.

In 2010, Debbie met John Drake through a mutual friend while on an outing with her mother Marge.   They talked and danced.  Enchanted by Debbie, John gained Marge's approval as a gentleman.  Debbie and John spent many happy years together.  They dined and danced and traveled and explored.  They loved God and each other, read scripture and worshipped together.  John was good to her and her family.  He stood by her through absolutely everything.

Debbie's family was the center of her world.  Her love was truly unconditional.  She had a way of making you feel important and accepted.  When you talked, she listened most compassionately, lending her ear while giving all of her heart.  A captivating beauty with an incredible sense of humor, infectious trilling laughter and radiant smile gave her presence a joyous and warm spirited nature.

She was a faithful Christian, her prayer devout and scripture well practiced, enduring through each and every challenge or blessing given her by God.

All of her loved ones looked to her in fierce adoration.  To them, no one listened better or forgave and accepted more freely.  Open to everything at moments notice, her smile and love gleamed so radiantly it would break any storm and ease any gloom.  Blessed were we to call this woman of strength our mother, sibling, and friend.  This to us could be the only reason for God wanting her back so early, that her love was too pure for earthly confines.  May heaven burn brighter for her coming.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Everett Jolley, mother, Marjorie Peone, and brother, Kenny.  She is survived by her son, Quentin (Brandi) Hoffman and children – Gideon and Olivia Hoffman; daughter, Morgen (Jake) Hoffman and son, Kayden Hoffman; stepmother, Christy Jolley; siblings, Judy (Bob) Todd, Linda Phipps, Jim (Beverly) Jolley, Gene (Diane) Jolley and Dan (Kathy) Jolley; and 14 nephews and nieces as well as numerous extended relatives and a village of love and support.
