Dawn Marie
Singer
Jun 26, 1971 — Jun 27, 2023
Kettle Falls
Dawn Marie Singer, age 52, a lifetime resident of the Colville and Kettle Falls communities, passed away on June 27, 2023 at her home. Dawn was born on June 26, 1971 in Colville, WA the daughter of David M. and Doris Marlene (Wooley) Morris.
Dawn was raised in Colville where she attended school and graduated in 1989 as a twelve-year senior. On July 1, 1989, she married Greg Singer and together they began a love story that was cut short days shy of 34 years. They made their first home as newlyweds in Colville. Dawn had been working while in high school at Kidsville and after marriage continued watching children in her home for friends and family. She then found joy in retail, working at the Sales Store in Colville. She and Greg moved to Kettle Falls, where they soon welcomed the birth of their first daughter, Josie and 5 years later they welcomed their second daughter Jayda. They resided together for the next 27 years In their current home. Dawn loved her role as "momma" and embraced each day with her girls. While being a stay at home mom, Dawn opened their home to several families babysitting once again. Dawn then worked several years at Jim's Video, where she had an impact on every single person who came in. Then in 2013, she began work as a Licensing Agent at the Stevens County Courthouse. She had a lifelong entrepreneurial spirit and loved to present business opportunities and her product knowledge. In November of 2019, Dawn was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer and due to her decline in health, retired from work with the county.
She was a courageous woman who often shared her past addiction and successful recovery from prescription opioid use. She was a "rocker at heart" and enjoyed many concerts with Greg throughout the years. They cherished the summer months and the many-many hours they would spend beach/boat camping, river floating, walking on the sand and soaking up the sun. In her younger years, she was drawn to the roar of the drag races and later as a grandma, the roar of Monster Trucks was a favorite with Dawn and her grandsons, whom she affectionately referred to as "my boys". Dawn had a way with kids that left her love indelibly imprinted deep within their hearts, to many of whom, she was Nanny Dawn. She was full of joy in life, dauntless in spirit, vivacious, giving of her time and treasures, had laughter that filled the room and without question… was always in charge.
Dawn was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Morris.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Singer, at the home; daughters, Josie Singer (Mike Hall) of Addy, WA, Jayda Singer (Tyson Berry) of Colville, WA; grandchildren, Jackson Hall, Kannon Hall and one grandson on the way, nicknamed by his Pa, "Huck" L.
