In Loving Memory
David Paul Pharoah
David Paul Pharoah passed away April 26, 2024, in Colville, Washington. He was born November 4, 1946, in DuBois, Wyoming to the late Robert Pharoah and Olive (Mobley) Pharoah.
David graduated from DuBois High School in 1964 and enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country in Vietnam for 2 years. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he returned to DuBois. In 1968 David wed Harriett Strong on Thanksgiving Day. He would joke that he chose Thanksgiving so that he would never forget their anniversary. The couple remained in DuBois until 1973 when they relocated to Yakima, WA to be close to Harriett's mother. Washington became their forever home. The couple welcomed daughters, Shannon (1976) and Kelli (1979), into the family.
David worked as a diesel mechanic throughout his career. He retired in 2019 and would move to the Spokane Valley in 2020 to be near one of his daughters and his 5 grandchildren. In 2022, he would join them in moving to Colville, WA. He had a very special relationship with his grandson, Eliot. The two were often going out of their way to scare or sneak up on the other either by hiding behind the couch or jumping out from nowhere. David would laugh uncontrollably.
David's health began to decline and on April 26, 2024, he passed away with his daughter, Kelly at his side.
David is survived by his daughters - Shannon and Kelli, granddaughters – Tessa, Sara, and Isabell, and grandsons – Eliot and Joseph. No services are planned at this time. Burial will take place in Dubois, WY at a later date.
