In Loving Memory of Daniel Price

Daniel Price passed away after a rapid decline in health on the last day of summer, September 21, 2026, at age 61 in Colville, WA.

Daniel was born in Pullman, WA, on May 17, 1965. Dan was raised on Sunnyside Hill by WSU professors, David and Dorothy. It was a golden time to grow up in Pullman, with free reign of neighborhood fun and at Cougar games, when kids were trusted and pretty much ran as they pleased.

Dan was an active and involved graduate of the Pullman High School class of 1983, staying close with many friends to this day, and enjoying reunions over the years. During his school years, he participated in Scouts and swim team, and spent time during summers with his grandparents on the family farm in Pennsylvania.

Dan followed his brother Doug and many friends to Western Washington University, where more great times ensued, and graduated with a degree in Political Science. Dan owned his moniker ‘Big Dan’ in both stature and personality, and over the years enjoyed golf, parties, camping and backpacking, travel, nature photography, cats, and most of all, volunteering.

A long-time president of the Friends of the Little Pend Orielle National Wildlife Refuge, he was dedicated to the improvement and upkeep of the refuge, where he could be found most days. Several summers he ran a youth conservation crew and enjoyed his role as mentor. Dan was also a proponent of the Kettle Range, and served as board president of the Kettle Range Conservation Group.

Dan is survived by his brother Doug and sister-in-law Laura of the family home in Pullman, and his four cats Serena, Scarlett, Willow and Luna.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Pullman, WA this coming spring. Dan would encourage you to get outside, take a hike and look for birds!
