Obituary

Christopher "Chris" Allen Wilson passed away in Spokane, WA surrounded by some of his family and friends on October 29th, 2024. Chris was born on May 5th, 1983, in Colville, WA to David Allen Wilson and Rose Marie Pettibon. Struggles within his childhood molded him into the bodyguard and protecter that he is known to be today.

Chris was destined to do great things and venture far past the confines of Stevens County, WA. In the early nineties Joseph Hartill came into his life guiding him to a future of endless possibilities. From being the protector and bodyguard for his sisters and friends. To being the brother from another mother that so many express to him over these years. Anyone that came across Chris was always left with a lasting impression and a giant smile on their faces. This gentle giant was just that.

Chris began his career early working at the Flour mill from stocking to helping others load their purchases. Growing into the giant by weightlifting and strongman competitions, gave him his bouncing physique at local bars all over Eastern Washington and Idaho panhandle. Aiding bars and establishments in handling misfits and others looking for a good time. Even if he was a budding misfit himself that grew above his struggles. With his gentle soul and giant hands, he was always giving to those in need above his own even if it was just a warm hug or a lift home. He was a 10 ft. giant with a heart too big for this world to hold.

Tow Truck driving was another skill that he held is his in arsenal. It was not just a job but a lifestyle. Helping others is what he did and would never change it. No matter what people called it from a hooker to wrecker driver too a tow man. That beckon would call in the midst of a disaster and the service he would provide. Above all he was a mechanical surgeon, he was the tow operator with a team of operators behind him. He was a hero to not just family and friends but to complete strangers all over this nation. So, that thin white line that shines upon the side of this nation's roadway Chris's light shines as well as all the other towing brothers he shared the roadway with.

There is a song that Chris shared with family and friends "Pancho and Lefty," by Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson. These lyrics were strong values he held dear. The morals that extended far into Chris's way of life. You cannot outrun that past at which you delt yourself, but you can only grow and move forward. We all live to find our end but do so with respect and morals that fight not just selfishly but for others. Chris fought and was succeeding in the battle of sobriety. The army he guided behind him of family and friends gave him strength and love furthering his struggles to a healthy pathway. Chris was 42 days sober at the time of his passing.

Mans skin is weak, but his deeds will forever be endured. To Odin, Father of Warriors we send out brother Chris to your halls of Valhalla. May he feast with brave and drink from the horn of mead. Forever honored in the glorious company of the slain.

Chris is survived by mother Rose Pettibon of Kettle Falls, WA; siblings Tom and Shannon Bowen of Sedro-Wooley, WA; Gerald and Samantha Wright of Nevada, MO; Janet McMillan of FL; Glenn and Raven Belback of Colville, WA; as well as numerous aunts and uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews that knew him as the great Uncle BAM BAM; as well as the love of he gave to his canine companion Pepper. He is proceeded in death by his father.
