Charles "Charlie" Robert Miller, age 72, longtime resident of north Pend Oreille County passed away on June 15, 2022. Charlie was born on February 5, 1950 in Ione, WA the son of Fredrick Paul and Charlotte Lavonne (Flock) Miller.
He was raised in Metaline Falls and graduated in 1969 from Selkirk High School. Charlie attended Spokane Community College and earned his associates degree in Automotive Mechanics. Charlie returned to Metaline Falls and began working at the Lehigh Portland Cement Plant. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Wallace, on March 25, 1972. They began a family in 1974 with the birth of their son, Chad. Two years later, their family grew again with the birth of their daughter, Amie. Charlie worked in Metaline Falls until the closure of the plant in 1991. Their family moved to Blaine, WA and Charlie continued working with the cement plant for the next few years in Canada. He worked a variety of jobs until retiring in 2016. Throughout his retirement, he spent many of his days watching his grandkids in sporting events, traveling and spending time with family. His wife Linda passed away in 2010. Years later, Charlie spent his days with Cindy Sage and they were blessed to share many years of companionship and family.
Charlie was an outdoorsman who enjoyed the adventures of hunting, fishing, mushroom picking, wood cutting and boating. He was selfless and generous, giving his time, talents and treasures at a moment's notice and with any expression of need. He was always busy with a project, working on a variety of home improvements for himself and family. He enjoyed the challenge of repairing and repurposing things that were broken. Charlie was a generous person with a kind heart and great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda and his brother, Pete Miller, brother-in-law Dave Roark, brother-in-law Gordon Wallace.
Charlie is survived by his son, Chad Miller (April) of Pateros, WA; daughter, Amie Sage (Ryan) of Duvall, WA; brother, Wayne Miller (Christina) of Colville, WA; sister, Jean Roark of Spokane, two sisters-in-law, Judy Miller of Metaline Falls, WA and Mary Wallace of Tiger, WA; 3 grandchildren, Aubrey, Lucas, Dylan; numerous nieces and nephews.
