G. William "Bill" Forgey

Bill Forgey passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at his home near Chewelah, Washington. He was born January 18, 1939 in Chewelah, Washington to William and Bettie (Clarke) Forgey. He graduated from Jenkins High School in 1956, after which he enlisted in the US Navy. He served 3-1/2 years (1956-1959) as an Electronics Technician on several destroyer ships including the U.S.S. Hollister and the U.S.S. Chevalier in the Pacific Fleet out of San Diego, California. After the Navy, Bill moved to Seattle where he attended the University of Washington and worked at Boeing. He met Arleen Loomis, also employed at Boeing and they married on July 25, 1961. Two Children graced their marriage while settling at their home in Lynnwood, Washington. Bill later worked for Raytheon and Northern Radio in the Seattle area, before being one of the three founders of Stephens Engineering Associates (SEA). SEA started in Bill's garage in Lynnwood in 1974. The business incorporated in 1975 and later moved to a business location. Bill was the design engineer for SEA, designing marine radio equipment for the commercial fishing fleet on the west coast. SEA manufactured this equipment at their company facility in Lynnwood, Washington. Bill was with SEA for 27 years before his retirement. After retiring, Bill and Arleen moved back to the Chewelah area to make their home.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Arleen Forgey; son Guy (Tammy) Forgey of Chewelah, Washington; Keri Lee Forgey of Arlington, Washington; brothers, Robert (Mary) Forgey, Addy, Washington and Brad (Janene) Forgey, Spokane, Washington.
