Betty "Betsy"
Ann Guenther
May 18, 1945 — May 30, 2022
Spokane
Betty "Betsy" Ann Guenther
Betty "Betsy" Ann Guenther, age 77, a longtime resident of Colville, WA, passed away on May 30, 2022 in her daughter's care in Kettle Falls, WA. Betsy was born on May 18, 1945 in Colville, WA the daughter of William Wesley II and Doris Lenore (English) Campbell.
Betsy was raised in Colville where she attended school and graduated in 1963 as a twelve year senior from Colville High School. She then journeyed off to college and eventually returned home. On March 28, 1964, Betsy married Danny Joe Inman and they soon began a family. Betsy loved her role as "Mom" and took pride in working to help support her growing family. She worked as a secretary for the U.S. Forest Service and KCVL radio station. Betsy also worked along-side Dan as they owned and operated Inman's Customs Interiors until his decline in health required that they sell the business in 1998. Danny passed away on October 9, 1999. Betsy had been working at the Department of Social and Health Services and continued her work there following his passing. In 2002, she met Larry Guenther and they began a new life of adventure and love. She would retire in 2005 as a supervisor for the Department of Social and Health Services and shortly thereafter began her first battle with lung cancer. Betsy fought it into remission and continued sharing time with her family in travels, at their Pend Orielle Lake Cabin and wherever she could be present with those she loved. She and Larry moved to Spokane in 2020. They resided in Spokane until just recently. Betsy's remission from cancer had come to an end and she requested her final days be spent close to, and in the care of, her daughter, Kris, with Larry, Chad and Danny at her side.
Betsy had a love for life and throughout her burdens, she found blessings. She sought after joy and painted her days in the brightest shades of light. Betsy grew beautiful flower gardens and surrounded herself in the floral bouquets of natural color and aroma. Her favorite place was "at the lake" whether by herself or with family and friends. She travelled with Larry on Alaskan fishing trips and to Africa, New Zealand and Cancun to name a few. She looked forward to her Hawaiian "girls" getaways with her daughter and lifelong friends. Betsy had a caregiver's heart and preferred to care for others rather than to be cared for. She was the cooker of "real food" according to her grandson and was the epitome of grace and style to all who knew and loved her. If you weren't helping, you better just get out of the kitchen, because she had food, smiles, joy and generosity in abundance to slice and serve! She took enormous joy in spending time with her Grandson Danny, teaching him everything she could, cooking for him, and being the BEST Nana. Yellow, the color of happiness, warmth and cheer was her favorite, and Hawaii held a very special place in her heart.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Dan, and her brother, Bill Campbell III.
She is survived by her husband Larry Guenther of Kettle Falls, Wa; her daughter, Kristine "Kris" DePaulo (Chad) of Kettle Falls, WA; son, Eric Inman (Caroline) of Longmont, CO; grandson, Danny DePaulo of Kettle Falls, WA; nieces and nephews, Larry Inman (Babby) of Colville, WA, LeeAnn Dean (John) of Mt.
