Barbara Alice Swan

Barbara Alice Cooper Swan of Rice, Washington, passed away at her home on September 2, 2023. She was born March 13, 1936 in Seattle, Washington. Barbara grew up in Bellevue, Washington. She met her husband Ted in 1953 soon after he was discharged from the Army. They were married on September 24, 1954. Their only child, Liz, was born in October 1956. Ted and Barbara spent their married life in the Redmond area until they moved to Kettle Falls in October 1971 where they purchased an orchard. Barbara was very active in the community and served on the Kettle Falls school board for 10 years. They later moved to the Arden area and then to Rice.

Barbara leaves behind her daughter Liz Flugel (Dave), granddaughter Kate Forsberg (Kell), grandson Mike Flugel (Jaclyn), great grandsons Matt Swan, Evan Forsberg, Perrin Forsberg, Cordell Flugel, great granddaughters Treva Forsberg and Kailynn Flugel as well as her sister Nancy Bjerke of Lacey, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted Swan, her parents Chet and Kathryn Cooper and her younger brother Bob Cooper.
