Ann Wren (Wilson) Berger
Ann Wren (Wilson) Berger, age 89, passed away peacefully at Parkview assisted Living in Colville, Washington on June 3, 2023, with her loving daughter Tamara, her friend and caregiver, Chris Knoch, and her beloved dog, Ittybit by her side, along with all of the caregivers at Parkview. Ann was born in Austin, Texas to Jesse Lee "Red" and Ann Lee (Fretwell) Wilson on July 4, 1933.
Ann met Keith Berger while he was stationed at Walker Air Force base in Roswell, NM and she was living in Carlsbad, NM. The two were wed in 1953 and moved to Colville, WA in 1955. She was a homemaker until 1966, when her youngest began attending school. At this point, Ann began working at Beardslee insurance for a time, before moving on to work for Ivan Harlen at Colville Electric, where she was the bookkeeper and became a licensed electrician. When Ivan sold the business, Ann began working for the City of Colville in 1979, working in the office of the City Treasurer until 1998.
In her free time, Ann had a knack for quieter, peaceful hobbies, including reading, tending to her garden, and making glass beads.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Lee "Red" and Ann Lee Wilson, as well as her loving husband, Keith Berger. She is survived by her daughters, Rita (Mike) Warner and Tamara (Jim) Fisher; her son, Daniel (Donna) Berger; her granddaughter, Sara Berger; and her loving canine companion, Ittybit; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
An ash committal ceremony, where Ann will be laid to rest with her husband, Keith, will be held at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, Washington on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation in Ann's honor can be made to: The Wounded Warrior Project (https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate), Shriners Children's Hospital (https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/giving), or to a charity of your choice.
