Alison Karen Reed

Alison Karen Reed, a resident of Colville, WA passed away on August 30, 2021 at the age of 55.  She was born on March 15, 1966 in Las Vegas, NV the daughter of Gerald and Nina (Bekker) Reed.

Alison spent her early years in Sacramento, CA with her family where she began school.  At the age of 13, their family moved to Las Vegas, NV.  There she continued her education until beginning a family.  She worked a variety of jobs to support herself and her growing family over the years.  In 2001, Alison moved to the Northeast Washington and continued to support her family with available work opportunities.  She was a caregiver at heart and loved to care for animals as well as people in need.  Alison worked and resided on a local dairy farm for 5 years and enjoyed the long days of feeding, clean and milking.  She had more recently returned to caring for the elderly as a live-in care giver for elderly folks in need of 24 hour care.

Alison was a quiet soul who kept to herself, her family and a few close friends.  She loved to be "in-the-know" with her family and what new adventures they were on.  Alison also enjoyed spending time outdoors soaking in the local scenery as well as going to the Columbia River, swimming and doting over her five grandsons.  She had a strong opinion that was softly spoken.  The reflection of, often off beat, dry and mistimed humor brought open laughter to her family as they shared her imprint on their lives.  She was someone who saw the good in all, loved her family without limit and will be dearly missed.

Alison was preceded in death by her son Joseph Duran just days before her own passing.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Hendrix (Willie Melow) of Addy, WA, Mikael Hendrix (Britney Fabio) of Colville, WA, Kaylynn DeWitt of Chewelah, WA; brother, Andre Reed (Patti) of Coeur d'Alene, ID; grandsons, Austin, Kayson, Karson, Avin and Aryn; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service for Mr. Alison K. Reed will begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the Mountain View Park Cemetery in Colville, WA.  Pastor Shane Moffitt will officiate.  Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of your choice.  Please visit the online memorial and sign the guestbook at www.danekasfuneralchapel.com .  Danekas Funeral Chapel and Crematory is entrusted with the arrangements.
